My friends, I finally have the Elephant Baby Shower Guest Book Printable for you that I made for the Pink Elephant Baby Shower last month. This is a SUPER cute baby shower decoration which doubles as a gift for the mama-to-be to hang up in her nursery. I am completely in love with this little elephant I designed and may just have to make one for myself when I have another baby.
No, I am not announcing anything…
Don’t let the pink balloons fool you, this elephant print can be used in a boy baby shower by swapping out the pink balloons for blue. Or for a neutral baby shower by simply printing the elephant guest book out in black and white (UPDATE* Many of you weren’t satisfied with this option, so now there is a YELLOW eared version of the elephant too). And for those that would like ALL blue, there is also a blue eared version of the little elephant for the baby boys on the way.
Expecting twins? I have a Twin Elephant Guest Book Printable as well. Oh, and I also have a little bunny guest book if you are interested.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Cardstock – this is for the balloon circles. I used three hues of pink/blue.
- Elephant Guest Book Printable – below
- Baker’s Twine– optional
- 11 in x 14 in Frame
Elephant Baby Shower Guest Book
This little guest book is pretty simple to put together. Especially if you have a circle hole punch, which I think I will get the next go around because the old fashion way with scissors does take awhile.
First off, you will need to decide whether you want to use the bakers twine to create balloon strings or if you would like the strings already drawn on.
*If you would prefer a non-editable version of the elephant printable which just says “Welcome little One” you can snag it over HERE.
*Or if you detest cutting out circles, you can purchase an elephant guestbook print with the balloons already printed on in my Etsy shop HERE.

Helpful Instructions
After you open the PDF it will prompt you to ‘fill in the form’ (you will need Adobe Reader to personalize this which you can download for free here. Or you can always manually write in the baby’s name). I created the PDF so that you can customize it with the baby’s name on the printable. Use the first name, last name or both, you decide! You’re welcome. In case you are curious, the font that I used can be downloaded for free here.
The elephant guest book is formatted as an 11×14 inch design. The place I had it printed at, didn’t supply that exact size in cardstock. So I printed the elephant printable on the next available size which was an 11×17 inch piece of white cardstock and then trimmed a little off the top and bottom to be able to fit inside the 11×14 inch frame. The frame I used had glass in the front, so what I did was place the glass inside the back of the frame so that the balloons could be taped directly onto the elephant printable.
Now comes the tedious part of cutting out the circles (that is… unless you have a big circle hole punch, then you can be done lickety-split! Or another great idea would be to use a balloon hole punch to actually have balloon shapes). I cut out about 30 circles measuring 1.5 inches from three different hues of pink cardstock. Just fyi, I used a spice lid to draw my circles, so don’t worry if you don’t have a compass!
As far as the baker’s twine goes, I simply secured the top of each string with tape because eventually the tape will be covered by the ‘balloons’.
For the part of the twine the elephant holds… well that part was a bit tricky. With three of the ends of the twine, I cut them a little shorter and with a tiny, tiny piece of tape I bundled them together and then glued them down. I covered the tape with the two remaining twine pieces with a small dab of glue for each. (If you want to skip this whole process just download the elephant baby shower guest book printable with the strings included. I won’t judge. )
I displayed the frame on an easel and reused the little chalkboard signs we had made for our Hat and Soup Party (There is a “Please sign a Balloon” sign in my shop if you need it!) After the guests wrote their names on the circles, I stuck each circle on the elephant printable using 3D foam squares (I LOVE this type of tape) which gave it a little dimension.
AND THAT’S IT!
Super duper cute, right?!
